The rocky shore of La Jolla’s Windansea Beach makes it one my favorite locations for family portraits. Get your in toes in the sand and wait for the green flash….your beautiful sunset awaits!

Windansea, with its iconic Surf Shack, was made famous by the Beach Boys who sang about it in the 60’s.  The palm-covered Surf Shack, originally built in 1946 to host luau beach parties, lives on and so does Windansea’s reputation as a top surfing beach.

We are thrilled with the photos you took of our family. Thank you so much for giving us something to treasure always – Deb

I hired Dennis to do family photos while we were on vacation in San Diego. He was incredibly easy to work with— even from 1,000 miles away. My family had more fun on this photo shoot than any other, so much so that my 7 year old didn’t want to leave. And the photos… my goodness, the photos… he sent us well over 80 beautiful images, at least 20 made me gasp when I saw them. And I’m very picky! 🙂 Some posed shots, and many ‘lifestyle’ shots that showed love, fun, and happiness. Simply priceless pictures that I will cherish. Could not recommend more highly.- Kristen

“Dennis has been our photographer since my husband and I were engaged 15 years ago. He has a great eye for capturing special moments with adults and kids. Year after year, we have never been disappointed ” – Kim D

Clothing is always what makes parents the most nervous to plan. Just know that as long as your family is being themselves that is what is the most important. A few general rules of thumb.

  1. Don’t match! No one matches in real life, so don’t start on picture day.
  2. Minimal outfit changes for kids. They don’t like it, so try to keep it to 1 change, if any.
  3. Wear something you can move in without worrying about it.
